MICROWAVE GAUGES            ON-LINE NIR SPECTROMETERS

Welcome to HK Instrument Systems USA

HK Instrument Systems sells Process Control Equipment, which have been designed and manufactured, to measure important Process Variables for the Sugar, Dairy, Mining, Paper, and Wastewater Industries as well as many others. The two measurement principles, which are being utilized by our systems are:

Our Microwave System makes a measurement based on the principles of Microwave Signal Absorption to measure the % Concentration (% Total Solids, Brix, g/cc) of liquids, and the % Moisture (% H2O) of Bulk Materials, Thin Material Products, and Slurries.

Our Near Infrared System makes a measurement based on the principles of NIR Signal Reflectance and NIR Signal Absorption. It has been designed to measure Product Constituents on line and in real time. Some typical constituents of interest, which can be measured by the NIR device, are, Fat, Moisture, Protein, Carbohydrates,  Alcohol Content and Ash as well as other important Process Constituents.

The HK Instrument Systems’ Microwave Product Line has been installed in over 1200 sites around the world. Some of the applications that our Products have been used to measure:

The Brix of Sugar Solutions

The % Consistency of Wood Fiber Slurries

The % Moisture and % Total Solids of Cheese and dairy Products

The active component of both Liquid Detergent and Fabric Softener

The HK Instrument Systems’ Near Infrared Product Line has been designed to measure the constituents of a wide variety of Products. Examples of the types of measurements possible with the Near Infrared Device are:

Fat, Moisture, Protein in Ground Meat and Meat Products

Fat, Moisture, Salt in Dairy Products like Cheese and Butter

Alcohol Content in Ethanol, Isopropyl, and Methanol

Moisture Content in Glass Fibers on a Belt

Moisture in Grains and Bulk Materials
